Superficially, yes..but ultimately..NO.

Dollar bills r quite filthy & will only rub more dirt & grime into ur cue stick.

Use a dry towel & a small amount of rubbing alcohol to remove the dirt, chalk, grime, & sweat from ur cue.

WASH YOUR HANDS with soap & water. Dry ur hands thoroughly.

Do NOT use any talc or ''cone'' hand chalk ----it only makes ur hands sweat more & makes ur cue stick stickier, & wreaks havoc on the balls, table cloth (felt), & ur hands.

Keep ur hands clean & ur pool cue clean. Keep a clean dry towel handy, to wipe any moisture off ur cue & ur hands throughout ur session(s).

Use a small DRY piece of a green Scotch Brite pad, to remove debris from ur cue. You can also invest under 10.00 in a ''McMagic'' 7500 grit-paper kit (4 pieces ----variable grit). McDermott makes this GREAT product. It is washable (soap & water) & lasts for years. It will keep ur cue stick shaft incredibly silky smooth & clean. l swear by this product (nothing more than super durable 7500 grit micro-paper that can be used over & over for many years---NO liquids!

For the best price, call McDermott toll free for info: 1-800-666-2283

Good luck, pool player!

Whatever u do, do NOT use ANY kind of powder. For starters, it ruins felt so no serious pool player would even suggest such a ludicrous act.

Think about what powder would be doing. Your hands r already sweating so the powder will be getting wet. Granted, it is absorbing the moisture & is turning into a fine past in the process. You can use ur imagination as to what happens after that.

Johnny is probably the closest with his answer. l clean the shaft of my cue by periodically using 2000 grit sand paper on it. It does not hurt the wood & if you've been playing with ur cue for any length of time the factory finish has probably long been worn down as to being of little or no use.

l just do not recommend using any kind of powders, chemicals, or cleaning products on ur cue.
